This is the amusing moment a wild elephant and a deer were startled by each other.<br /><br />The animals were seen cautiously checking each other out in Nakhon Nayok, central Thailand, last Wednesday (May 21).<br /><br />Footage shows the elephant nervously approaching the deer, which was relaxing under a tree in the middle of a helicopter landing bay.<br /><br />However, as it tip-toed forward it was suddenly startled by the smaller creature. The deer was also frightened and took flight.<br /><br />Volunteer ranger Bodin Chansrikham captured the scene while he was wandering through the national park, which was deserted due to tourists staying away during the pandemic.<br /><br />Bodin said the elephant is quite a jumpy. He said: "I want to comfort him after seeing him getting startled by the little deer that is a lot smaller in size."
