A couple attached packs of snacks onto their car to make a mobile pantry for the locals struggling with the coronavirus downturn<br /><br />Mechanic Thawan Tomkham and his wife Benjamas Sriratchawang said they were inspired by the community pantries springing up around Thailand amid the COVID-19 hardship.<br /><br />Thawan said he believes that people in rural areas needed food donations during the difficult period but they have no access to the pantries.<br /><br />The kind couple decided to make a mobile pantry to bring the goods to struggling residents in Ubon Ratchathani province.<br /><br />Footage shows the couple taping food on their car before driving out to the rural areas.<br /><br />The husband said: "We have not planned how long we will keep doing this, but initially we wanted to do it until our budget runs out.<br /><br />"However, if the people are willing to donate food we are also happy to take the trip to hand out the items.''
