The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday said that 539 more people have been stricken by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) – the highest number of cases reported in a single day since the dreaded illness was first detected in January.<br /><br />With this development, the new number of infections brought the country’s total confirmed cases to 15,588.<br /><br />Recoveries, meanwhile, jumped to 3,598 as 92 more patients recovered from the illness.
