Reuters reports that Minneapolis police released Omar Jimenez, a CNN reporter who was arrested with his production crew while live reporting on TV.<br />Jimenez, was covering the violent protests in the city after the death of George Floyd, a black man who was filmed gasping for breath, as a white police officer knelt on his neck. <br />Floyd later died. <br />Police officers offered no reason for Jimenez's arrest. <br />Reuters reports that Jimenez is also black and most of the police officers that arrested him were white. <br />The CNN reporter and his crew were released from jail about an hour later. <br />After he was released Jimenez said, "What gave me one bit of comfort was that it happened on live TV."<br />He added “You don’t have to doubt my story it’s not filtered in any way; you saw it with your own eyes.”
