U.N. Chief Calls On Political Leaders And Law Enforcement To Listen To Protestors And Show Restraint

Much of the United States has erupted into protests over racial inequality and police brutality.<br />United Nations chief Antonio Guterres has called on U.S. leaders and authorities to listen to protestors and show restraint.<br />According to Reuters, Guterres has also urged protestors to do so peacefully.<br />The wave of U.S. protests was ignited by the death of an unarmed black man, George Floyd, at the hands of Minneapolis police.<br />46-year-old George Floyd was pinned to the ground by former Officer Derek Chauvin.<br />Chauvin kneeled on Floyd's neck for 8 minutes and 46 seconds, as Floyd pleaded, saying "I can't breathe".<br />Derek Chauvin has been arrested and charged with third-degree murder.
