President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday the Republican National Convention (RNC) will be moved to a different state.<br />The convention which is set for August in North Carolina is being moved because of social-distancing restrictions.<br />North Carolina's Democratic governor has ordered the RNC to follow all CDC guidelines for social distancing.<br />Governor Roy Cooper rejected Trump's demands for a full capacity presidential convention in Charlotte.<br />Cooper told organizers that a scaled-down event was “a necessity” due to the coronavirus.<br />Republican officials want a “full convention” rather than one with fewer participants and social distancing.<br />North Carolina has had over 30,000 cases or coronavirus, with a death toll of 961.
