A pregnant elephant was killed after eating a pineapple full of firecrackers when it strayed into a village in east India on May 27.<br /><br />India's renowned artist Sudarsan Pattanaik paid tribute to the elephant and her unborn calf in the sand. <br /><br />The mother elephant died near the Silent Valley National Park in Palakkad, Kerala.
