Electronic Arts Donates
$1 Million to Fight Racism Video game publisher and developer Electronic Arts (EA)
announced in a statement made by CEO Andrew Wilson that they are donating a million dollars
“to organizations dedicated to the fight for racial justice
in the U.S. and against discrimination around the world.” Those organizations include the Equal Justice Initiative,
the NAACP Legal Defense & Educational Fund and more. It was also revealed that EA will
“double match any funds" that
people make to organizations through
EA's YourCause program during June. Their statement comes in
response to the recent protests
against racial injustice, which were sparked by the
killing of George Floyd by police. EA also said in their statement that they “stand with all
of [their] African-American / Black colleagues and
partners, families and friends, and everyone around
the world who is ready to see [racism] end.”
