S. Korea pledges assistance of US$ 30 mil. for global vaccine drive

한국, 2021-2025년에 세계 백신 개발에 3천만불 지원<br /><br />South Korea has pledged assistance worth 30 million U.S. dollars... for five years starting next year... to fund the supply of vaccines of various kinds for the world's poorest countries.<br />Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha took part in the Global Vaccine Summit 2020 hosted online by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Thursday.<br />The meeting, held to raise funds for 'Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance' for the 2021 to 2025 period... brought together leaders from more than 30 countries who pledged more than 8-point-8 billion dollars in total... to develop and distribute vaccines for diseases such as measles and polio.<br />The biggest pledge to Gavi came from the UK at two billion dollars.<br />
