Nike Pledges $40 Million<br />to Support Black Communities Nike recently announced their intention to<br />support the Black community in America with<br />$40 million in donations over the next four years. According to President and CEO of Nike John Donahoe, <br />the company's decision to contribute is due<br />to the “events that have unfolded” recently. John Donahoe,<br />via statement Donahoe then directly identified the <br />“enormous suffering” felt by the Black community, <br />saying we need to “educate ourselves more deeply.” John Donahoe,<br />via statement Donahoe went on to say that the Nike Inc. family<br />will “never stop striving” to act as an example of<br />how a “diverse company” should act. John Donahoe,<br />via statement The $40 million pledge will<br />be shared between Nike,<br />Jordan Brand and Converse. The money will go towards supporting<br />organizations that address social injustice, education<br />and racial inequality in the United States.
