Joe Biden has officially reached the majority delegate threshold to secure the Democratic nomination for President of the United States.<br />According to Decision Desk HQ Biden secured the majority threshold of 1,991 pledged delegates with his win in the Virgin Islands' Democratic primary.<br />Business Insider reports that Biden became the presumptive nominee when Sen. Bernie Sanders dropped out of the race on April 8.<br />Sanders is staying on the ballot to earn delegates in remaining states to secure spots on crucial DNC committees.
