The world's largest plane, Antonov An-225 Mriya, landed at Shannon Airport delivering personal protective equipment to help combat the COVID-19 pandemic.<br /><br />Footage filmed on June 12 shows the plane's nose turning up as it prepares to unload its cargo at west Ireland airport.<br /><br />Director of operations at the airport Niall Maloney reportedly told local radio: ”With a wing span wider than the Croke Park pitch and, from nose to tail, over one and a half times the length of an Olympic swimming pool, the Antonov 225 stands alone as the largest and most powerful planes ever made."<br /><br />The aircraft is reportedly six stories high and weighs around 630 tons powered by six turbofan engines.
