Katy Perry and Black Eyed Peas<br />to Co-Headline Pro-Voting Event Rock the Vote, a nonprofit dedicated to<br />empowering young voters, recently announced<br />their first event of the summer through their<br />“Democracy Summer 2020” initiative. This year’s initiative is in partnership with March For<br />Our Lives, Voto Latino Foundation and When We All Vote. The virtual concert, scheduled<br />for June 18, will feature a number<br />of music stars and politicians. Katy Perry and the Black Eyed Peas are set to<br />co-headline the event and will be joined by other<br />musicians, such as Eve, Ne-Yo and Big Freedia. Former presidential candidates<br />Elizabeth Warren and Julián Castro are also<br />scheduled to speak during the live event. In a statement, Perry said she was “excited”<br />to be a part of the event and encouraged “the<br />young people of America” to vote in November. Katy Perry,<br />via 'People' Ne-Yo also released a statement,<br />stressing the importance of voting and<br />calling it the “voice for our future.” Ne-Yo, via 'People' Funds raised during the Rock the Vote event will<br />be donated to black-led and focused organizations.
