The presence of a wild elephant in a neighbourhood in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu triggered panic among locals. <br /><br />The incident happened in the village of Nellimalai, Coimbatore district on Saturday (June 13). <br /><br />Footage shows the wild tusker elephant roaming the streets, presumably looking for food. Forest officials are then seen, trying to chase the elephant away using fireworks.<br /><br />According to local reports, the residents of the locality have been living in fear ever since the elephant intrusion.<br /> <br />Residents have requested forest officials to take necessary action to prevent any future incident resulting from a man-animal conflict.
