Indian officials rescue and rehabilitate pangolin that fell into deep well

A pangolin was rescued by the forest department officials after it accidentally fell into a deep well of a village in eastern India’s Odisha.<br /><br />The incident took place in Budhiapatana village in Odisha’s Cuttack on June 21.<br /><br />According to reports, the mammal strayed from the forest into the adjoining village in search of food, and unwittingly tipped over.<br /><br />The villagers spotted the scaled animal in the well and alerted the forest department, which rushed to the spot to rescue it.<br /><br />After being successfully rescued, it was brought into the wildlife range for medical inspection and is said to be a five-year-old mammal.<br /><br />It will be released into the wild after conducting a thorough medical examination.
