Kind mother hands out hundreds of free meals to workers stranded in Dubai

This is the heartwarming moment a Filipina mother cooked and hands out packed meals to migrant workers who have lost their jobs due to the pandemic in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.<br /><br />Feby Baguisa, 34, prepared the free meals with the help of her children while her husband is out for work.<br /><br />Their housemates, another migrant family who share an apartment with them, also lend a hand in distributing the food packs. <br /><br />The mother-of-three also lost her job when businesses were closed down due to the covid-19 restrictions.<br /><br />Footage shows Feby and her family on the 16th day of giving out free food to a long queue of migrant workers, mostly Filipinos, in Muraqabat Deira on June 8. They were able to provide 320 food packs consisting of rice, viand, and some snacks that day.<br /><br />She said: "I am glad that people appreciate our efforts. Some of them reached out to me to give goods and money for the kitchen.<br /><br />"I am also poor but doing this act of helping people, especially feeding the children so they will not sleep on empty stomachs brings so much joy to me."<br /><br />On average, Feby is able to cook 200 meals a day. They have secured food safety license to make sure that they follow the health protocols of the government.<br /><br />She added: "We operate under strict social distancing rules, and recipients should wear face masks all the time."<br /><br />The project, which Feby called "Ayuda" meaning "help" in English, started on the first day of Muslim religious holiday Eid-al-Fitr on May 24.
