A hungry monitor lizard was seen eating a wild python it caught in a river in Singapore.<br /><br />The reptile pounced on the snake while it floated through the Kallang River in Potong Pasir on June 21.<br /><br />Shocked locals watched the two reptiles fighting before the lizard emerged victorious.<br /><br />Gruesome footage shows the dragon-like reptile tearing lumps of flesh from the snake before gulping them down.<br /><br />Resident Swen Einhaus said he noticed the wild scene as he cycling along the river bank.<br /><br />He said: "It looked like the snake was eating the lizard from afar but was a different story when I had a closer look."
