Hundreds of protesters marched through the Spanish capital on Saturday (June 27th) banging pots and pans to voice their anger at the government's handling of the coronavirus pandemic.<br /><br />The protesters called on those joining the march to wear masks and maintain social distancing.<br /><br />The protests, which began in the upmarket Salamanca neighbourhood over strict lockdown rules preventing exercise, have been caricatured and mocked online as a "posh revolution."<br /><br />Social media users began the hashtag #CayeBorroka – a play on words on the posh boy’s name Cayetano and kale borroka, the urban guerrilla actions carried out by Basque nationalist youth in the 1980's and 1990's.
