My Hotel Review of the Ibis Darling Harbour Hotel Sydney Australia.

If you read my reviews you will know I am a big fan of the AccorHotels group. You always know you are getting a clean bed what ever class whether Ibis to Sofitel.
On my visit to Sydney I had booked the Novotel Darling Square and for a treat the Sofitel Darling Harbour for my last night.

Don't forget to check out my website, for more reviews, travel videos and special offers
https://www.somebloke.co.uk/special-offers/

The Ibis I had missed out. However walking around Darling Harbour. I noticed what great views the Ibis had of the harbour it really is in a prime location and it was a shame not to be able to check it out.

A few days later I found myself at Melbourne Southern Cross Station getting ready to board the sleeper train.
Let's just say something went wrong with my reservation ( I am not a happy boy ) and I not only needed to get to Sydney but I needed a bed for the night for when I got there.
I had arrived in Melbourne City on the SkyBus so jumped on that to the airport.
In a 20 minute journey I had booked a flight but also booked, confirmed and paid for a night at the Ibis Darling Harbour using the Accor app. I am a great fan of technology especially when it works under pressure.

I arrived at the hotel close to midnight. My reservation was in order and my room was ready for me, check in was very straightforward and I was in my room in 5 minutes.

Like all Ibis rooms this was clean functional, comfy bed ( you can see my video review on You Tube ) However it also came with stunning views of Darling Harbour !! Wow.

I ordered some food from the 24 hour menu as I was famished and it hit the spot. A little Caprese with fries. Was ready for me to collect downstairs in about 15 mins.

As I was originally planning to arrive by train to Sydney at 7am I had arranged an early check in at the Sofitel and I could hear their pool calling me.
But when I found the open terrace at the Ibis overlooking the harbour. I was in no rush to leave and enjoyed a great coffee in the sun.

The terrace itself ran right along the front of the hotel with a few cool and quirky spots to chill. A great find.

The staff at late check in and check out along with chatting to over my coffee. All efficient, professional and most importantly friendly.

I was gutted to miss my train, but as they say every cloud has a silver lining and being able to check out the Ibis Darling Harbour was that silver lining.

If you are on a budget ( or even not ) The Hotel with its great staff and great location is a place I thoroughly recommend.
