The famed Three Gorges Dam in central China, the largest hydroelectric dam in the world, was forced to discharge floodwater after heavy rainfall on June 29.<br /><br />The spectacular video was filmed in the city of Yichang in Hubei Province and provided by local media with permission.<br /><br />Since the water level exceeded the limit for around two metres and a new rainstorm is coming on July 1st, the Three Gorges Dam discharged water to give space for the upcoming floods.<br /><br />It was the first time for the dam to discharge this year, reports said.
