Protesters in the Sudanese capital of Khartoum were subject to rounds of tear gas as police retaliated against the crowd today (June 30).<br /><br />Footage captured by Sinan Osman shows a large crowd at the Airport Road and Jirief Turn intersection approaching a line of police officers.<br /><br />The police, in turn, discharge multiple rounds of tear gas that disperse the crowd.<br /><br />Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, thousands protested all over Sudan to demand the transitioning government bring justice for those killed in last year's protests.<br /><br />Last year's protests demanded a civilian-led government after the ousting of Omar al-Bashir by a coup d'état.
