S. Korea announces new set of COVID-19 guidelines for restaurants

정부, 코로나19 막기위해 음식점 유형별 방역수칙 마련<br /><br />As the number of COVID-19 cases continues to fluctuate, the South Korean government has shifted its focus to restaurants across the nation.<br />From wearing gloves and masks in buffet restaurants to using QR codes in entertainment facilities, our Choi Won-jong has the details of the new COVID-19 guidelines.<br />Things will look a little different in South Korean restaurants... after the government announced a new set of guidelines to prevent COVID-19 cluster infections.<br />"There was a cluster infection at a buffet restaurant in Bucheon. Also more than 50 people have been infected at many restaurants.<br />Health authorities have divided restaurants into three different types.<br />For general restaurants, customers are required to use individual tableware and glasses during shortened meal times...and owners will install partitions at each table.<br />But when it comes to large gatherings, groups are required to dine at allocated meal times to prevent overcrowding.<br />They are also asked to sit on one side of the table, or in alternating seats, if they are facing each other. .<br />However, if customers are dining at a buffet style restaurant, wearing face masks is a must... when they are not eating and while waiting in line.<br />When using utensils, customers need to wear gloves or sanitize their hands.<br />Meanwhile, for entertainment facilities, health officials are enforcing a different set of COVID-19 guidelines.<br />To track customers in the event of further COVID-19 transmissions, all visitors will be required to scan a QR code before entering to share their personal data.<br />Health authorities added that they will conduct on-site inspections to make sure entertainment venues are following the guidelines.<br />Choi Won-jong, Arirang News.<br />
