By now, pretty much everyone should know that frequent handwashing is a good thing to do--especially in a pandemic.<br />But that's not always possible, and sometimes stores have already been emptied of hand sanitizer.<br />So, why not make your own? After all, you probably already know how to make your own banana bread and sourdough starter!<br />According to Business Insider, the recipe for homemade sanitizer is simple, but the proportions have to be correct for it to work well.<br />To make it, mix 2/3 cup of 91% isopropyl alcohol with 1/3 cup of aloe vera. Add eight to 10 drops of scented oil if you want to smell nice.<br />To make your own disinfecting wipes, take a paper towel, dab it in rubbing alcohol, and wipe down whatever surface you'd like to clean.<br />Finally, remember that while hand sanitizer kills most germs, it doesn't remove them from your skin. Wash your hands whenever possible!
