With a surge in COVID-19 cases since the lockdown terminated, law enforcement officials in Bengaluru, southern India, have started shutting down shops that do not follow social distancing guidelines.<br /><br />Footage filmed on June 28 shows police officers sealing shops on Neeladri Road. Several shops have been shut, including McDonald’s franchises and convenience stores.<br /><br />This step was taken after the city was praised for its minimal spread of infection during the two-month-long lockdown but has struggled to contain the virus since the country has partially reopened.
