An old man and his pet dog was stranded in their small cottage after floods swamped their village in eastern Thailand following heavy rain.<br /><br />A kind neighbour named Seksith stayed in the area when he noticed the distressed pair in Rayong province on June 30.<br /><br />The good Samaritan videos the devastation while waiting for the rescuers to arrive to help the old man and the dog out of the house <br /><br />Footage shows the deluge submerging farmland, roads, homes, and other structures turning the village into lake.<br /><br />Seksith said the path leading to the house was blocked by huge debris and strong currents so he waited for the emergency team before proceeding.<br /><br />He said: "We were finding the way to help the old man. The floodwater is strong but we should help him out of the place as soon as possible."<br /><br />The rescuers were able to take the old man and the dog out of the house and were taken to the evacuation shelter to receive assistance.<br /><br />Thailand has been experiencing powerful tropical storms for the last two months as the country moves into its hot summer rainy season.
