A 400-year-old stone arch bridge was washed away by an overflowing river in eastern China after the heavy rain.

The dramatic video, shot in the city of Xuancheng in Anhui Province on July 6, shows a board being placed on the stone arch bridge with a notice saying "The bridge is closed. Please detour."

Another clip shows the 150-metre-long, six-metre-wide and nine-metre-high bridge which can date back to the Ming Dynasty suddenly collapsing into the flooded river.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
