A large monitor lizard that strayed into a washroom was rescued after several arduous attempts. <br /><br />The reptile was spotted in the female hostel of Tezpur University in the Sonitpur district of northeast India's Assam on July 7.<br /><br />On receiving the information, a wildlife rescuer rushed to the spot with forest officials to rescue the wandering lizard.<br /><br />Footage shows the rescuer struggling to cast a rope around the agitated lizard's neck in an attempt to restrain it.<br /><br />He finally succeeds and takes the lizard away from its hiding spot, holding it carefully by the tail and neck.<br /><br />The rescuer then proceeds to untangle the rope from the lizard’s neck cautiously, before releasing it into the wild. The reptile hurries into the woods after being released.
