Farmers drove tractors through central London on Wednesday (July 8) to protest the UK Agriculture Bill.<br /><br />Farmers argue that the Bill will remove British animal and environmental standards for food and the UK market will be opened to low-quality goods.<br /><br />Activists from Animal Rebellion & Animal Save Movement - including climate change activist Mr Broccoli - also joined the protest.<br /><br />An A&E doctor who had come to the protest dressed as pineapple said the Bill "is opening up our borders to imports of food which is going to be way more harmful - not just to people but to the environment".<br /><br />A veterinary surgeon also said that the COVID-19 pandemic was "literally caused by exploiting animals" and the Bill is "just another disaster waiting to happen."<br /><br />The Bill is set to be voted on in the Lords next week.
