Firefighters rescued 1,955 stranded people in southern China after severe rain and flash floods submerged a village after a nearby dam burst.<br /><br />In the video, shot in the city of Shangrao in Jiangxi Province on July 9, the village was submerged in deep floods and firefighters took boats to rescue trapped residents.<br /><br />Another clip shows firefighters piling up bags of sand to block the floodwater.<br /><br />1,955 stranded people were rescued and more than 5,000 people were evacuated, reports said.<br /><br />The video was provided by local media with permission.
