A driver miraculously survived after skidding on a wet road and hitting a lamppost before being flung out of the window.<br /><br />The man was driving his black pickup truck after heavy rain when he tried to overtake a motorcycle rider in Phuket island, southern Thailand.<br /><br />However, the vehicle skidded out of control and slammed into a metal post, causing it to rotate several times. <br /><br />The driver was flung through the door window but survived, with only his arm and upper body leaning out of the vehicle.<br /><br />Passersby tended to the injured man who transferred to hospital. <br /><br />CCTV footage from a nearby shop captured the shocking accident. <br /><br />Resident Apichet Thongkhiew said: "There are car accidents around this area so often, I just hope that motorists have more awareness while driving on the road."<br /><br />The shaken driver was seen emerging from the vehicle and taken to hospital where he has been recovering since the smash.
