S. Korea to designate additional high-risk nations to curb imported COVID-19 cases

정총리 "방역강화국 추가 지정•교대선원 무사증입국 정지"<br /><br />The South Korean government will strengthen its quarantine measures against imported cases of COVID-19 as they continue to outpace community transmissions.<br />It will decide in the coming hours on whether to add the Philippines and Uzbekistan to its list of high-risk nations subject to enhanced quarantine measures.<br />Arrivals from those countries are subject to visa restrictions and flight control ...and are required to submit negative test results before being permitted entry.<br />Currently designated countries are Bangladesh, Pakistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.<br />Of the 39 new COVID-19 cases confirmed on Wednesday, 28 were imported 23 of those detected at quarantine checkpoints.<br />Total cases now stand at thirteen-thousand-five-hundred-51.<br />There were no additional deaths, meaning the death toll remains at two-hundred-89.<br />
