신규확진 61명중 해외유입 47명…연일 급증 113일만에 최다 기록<br /><br />South Korea saw over 60 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday and majority of those, 47, were cases from overseas.<br />That's the highest number of imported cases since late March.<br />The country is on alert... as imported cases have been outnumbering domestic infections... and are steadily on a rise.<br />Our Eum Ji-young has this report.<br />South Korea on Thursday recorded its highest number of imported COVID-19 cases since March 25th.<br />Out of the 61 new cases reported on Thursday, 47 were imported.<br />It's the 21st day in a row that there have been ten or more new cases coming from overseas.<br />Of Thursday's new imported cases, 20 of them were South Korean construction workers returning from Iraq.<br />Around 100 South Korean construction workers in Iraq returned home earlier this week.<br />Out of the people on the connecting flight the workers took from Qatar to South Korea, 14 were reported to have COVID-19 on Wednesday as well as the further 20 reported on Thursday.<br />"Among 216 passengers on the plane, a total of 34 construction workers have been confirmed so far."<br />Health authorities said the imported infections coming from Iraq are likely to rise further as more workers return home. Thursday's figures also include 14 additional crew members from a Russian ship in the southeastern port of Busan.<br />There are a total of 29 crew members on board the vessel.<br />Eum Ji-young Arirang News.<br />
