And according to Johns Hopkins University on Thursday local time, the outbreak has killed at least 588-thousand people.<br />The U.S. has seen by far the highest number of cases worldwide,... with an all-time high of more than 75-thousand daily COVID-19 cases. The country's total cases on Thursday surpassed the three-point-five million mark and around 138-thousand Americans have died from the virus.<br />Brazil's coronavirus cases and deaths are rising fast. The country has seen a total of more than 2 million confirmed coronavirus cases and 76-thousand deaths,... the world's second highest behind the United States. Government figures show nearly 40-thousand new infections every day.<br />As the virus is gaining steam not only in Brazil's major cities, but also rural areas, residents are concerned amid the poorly coordinated response.<br />"I'm really, really scared. Every day (coronavirus cases) increase. The trend isn't decreasing, it's increasing. And with all these crowds - I'm running out of here."<br />The pandemic is also spreading rapidly in India. The number of COVID-19 cases in India has reached near one million on Thursday fueled by surge in countryside areas where healthcare infrastructure is much weaker. India has seen a record of more than 32-thousand new infections with the death toll surpassing 24-thousand according to the country's federal health ministry.<br />The country's testing rate in relation to its population is one of the lowest in the world.<br />Eum Ji-young Arirang News.<br />
