Officials at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have delayed the release of new recommendations for sending children back to school.<br />According to CNN, this week, CDC Director Robert Redfield stressed the wearing of masks as a key component to any strategy for reopening schools.<br />However, Redfield and other CDC officials have been barred from testifying before a Congressional hearing on reopening schools next week.<br />The move by the Trump administration comes amid the national debate over sending children back to classrooms.<br />A staff member on the House panel said White House officials informed the committee of its decision in an email.
