EU leaders have failed to agree upon the size of the fund that's designed to help their virus-stricken economies.<br /> Meeting in Brussels for a third straight day on Sunday, they again locked horns over a proposed recovery fund worth around 857 billion U.S. dollars,... and a EU budget of more than one trillion dollars for 2021 to 2027.<br />They failed to agree on the exact amount of the EU's long-term budget, the structure of the payouts,... as well as whether to withhold money from countries that fail to meet democratic standards.<br />Some members, including the Netherlands, Austria and Denmark, are pushing for repayable loans instead free grants and they want stricter control over how the funds are spent. <br />
