용산공원 남산쪽으로 더 넓어진다…경찰청 시설 예정부지도 포함<br /><br />After being used by the U.S. military for over 30 years, and off limits to the general public for over one-hundred years, an area in central Seoul will be transformed into a National Park.<br />Parts of Yongsan Park, which was once used to house U.S. military officials, will be open to ordinary citizens from August 1st.<br />It had been off limits for over a century as the area was used by the Japanese during the colonial rule before being occupied by the U.S. military thereafter.<br />To preserve the surroundings, no additional structures have been built and old buildings have been renovated into cafes and exhibition spaces.<br />This is part of the government's plans to turn the current Yongsan garrison into a Korean version of New York's Central Park.<br />
