A quick-thinking excavator driver was able to rescue another excavator that was trapped and being submerged by ocean waves in Vietnam.

According to the filmer, who filmed the incident on June 6 in Ben Tre Province, the tide was so high that one of the excavators on the shore could not move ashore in time.

The excavator was quickly surrounded by seawater and could not move in the rapidly rising tide pool.

Realising his colleagues were in danger, a nearby excavator driver moved closer and used his bucket to connect to the trapped excavator's bucket and tried to pull the vehicle out of the danger zone.

Thanks to this manoeuvre, he was able to rescue the excavator from a dangerous area.

The driver said: "I had fully opened the towing capacity of the excavator crane. You can see the black smoke coming out from the overload of the excavator."
