Beijing confirms the United States has ordered China to close its Houston consulate, in what it called a "outrageous and unjustified move" that will further harm diplomatic relations.<br /><br />"On July 21st, thhe US abruptly demanded that China's consulate general in Houston cease all operations and events," says foreign ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin, adding the move is "a political provocation".
