Injured monkey rescued by passing police after being hit by car in Malaysia

An injured monkey that was hit by speeding cars on a highway in Malaysia was rescued by a police officer and a passing motorcycle rider.<br /><br />The traffic cop was patrolling the Lubuhraya Toll road in Selangor on July 20 when he noticed the bloodied monkey.<br /><br />The poor animal had been trying to cross the highway to reach a forest on the other side when it was hit by a vehicle.<br /><br />A kind delivery rider also stopped his bike to help the officers who were having a hard time catching the defensive monkey, who was frightened and hurting.<br /><br />In the video, the long-tailed monkey refused to be carried by the officers because it is was defensive after sustaining injuries.<br /><br />The monkey continued to evade them causing slow traffic until the rider was able to carry it into safety.<br /><br />The heroic rider took the monkey in his arms and carried it on the other side of the road where the thick forest is.<br /><br />It scampered away while the traffic officers and the rider were later praised by the Malaysian Royal Police.<br /><br />They said: "We would like to express our congratulations and thanks to the officers and the rider. The way that they helped the monkey is a good example of cooperation between officers and citizens.''
