A herd of at least nine elephants caused panic among locals following a walk across a national highway in northern India’s Uttarakhand.<br /><br />The incident took place on July 19 in Kotdwar’s Lansdowne on National Highway 534 in Pauri Garhwal.<br /><br />According to reports, a similar incident took place in the area a few weeks ago and spread terror in the same manner.<br /><br />The footage from the highway show adults, as well as young elephants following the lead of their alpha leader, climbing on to the road one after another.<br /><br />After wandering about on the highway, the elephant herd then made their way into the woods without causing any harm to life or property.
