A new study reveals anti-inflammatory drugs may offer relief to people with depression who are resistant to standard drug treatments.<br />According to UPI, adults with treatment-resistant depression have elevated blood levels of genes linked to inflammation and stress.<br />Therefore, researchers say the drugs designed to treat inflammation might help with the condition.<br />Researchers are now holding clinical trials to assess various anti-inflammatory drugs -- like aspirin -- in those who don't respond to antidepressants.<br />According to the National Institute of Mental Health, more than 7% of US adults have depression. As many as half fail to improve after drug therapy.
