A terrified family were stuck in their car after electricity cables were blown onto it during a storm in Songkhla, southern Thailand.<br /><br />The electric poles were pulled down by strong wind and rain on Wednesday afternoon (July 22). They then landed on the vehicle.<br /><br />The police had evacuated the family from the car by letting them exit through the car back door and deliver them to a safe place first.<br /><br />Then they coordinated with the provincial electric authority to cut out the power and retrieve the car later.<br /><br />The family thanked the police for rescuing them from the accident. The driver said: "We were stuck in the car for over 20 minutes before the police came to help us out. We were all so frightened.''<br /><br />Thailand's rainy season lasts from the end of May until late September. There are regular thunderstorms and heavy downpours leading to floods as the country's undeveloped infrastructure struggles to cope.
