A police officer was recorded on video pinning a motorcycle rider down to the pavement in Zamboanga City<br /><br />In the video, the officer could be seen forcing the rider to the ground after moving to the side. When the rider was pinned down, the police officer then stood up and seen stepping on the rider’s stomach. <br /><br />According to reports, the police officer was later identified to be Police Major Jivertson Pelovello, station commander of Zamboanga City Police Station 7.<br /><br />Pelovello was relieved to ensure an impartial investigation, according to Zamboanga Peninsula Police Regional Office 9.<br /><br />“It is unfortunate that the viral video seems to suggest brutality or application of unreasonable force disproportionate to subdue a seemingly cooperative suspect,” PRO-9 Regional Director Brig.
