내달 중순 한미연합훈련 축소 시행한다…전작권 전환 검증<br /><br />South Korea and the United States have agreed to go ahead with their annual large-scale combined military excercise next month,... despite the pandemic, by scaling it down.<br />South Korean military officials say the allies agreed to downsize it because the U.S. won't be able to send units to Korea from abroad.<br />The exercise will focus in part on Seoul's ability to exercise wartime operational control, which it is expected to do eventually.<br />The Moon administration wants to have operational control by 2022.<br />The exercise is to be held from mid-August for two weeks.<br />
