U.S. Marines with Force Reconnaissance Company, 1st Reconnaissance Battalion and Japan Ground Self-Defense Force soldiers with Reconnaissance Company, Amphibious Rapid Deployment Brigade, participate in helocast training during Exercise Iron Fist on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, Jan. 22. <br /><br />Helocasting is an airborne technique used by small unit, special operations forces, also practiced extensively by the US Army's light infantry units, to insert into a military area of operations.
