The poverty-stricken family of a one-year-old girl with a rare condition that gives her a swollen tummy and spongy bone have appealed for help treating her.<br /><br />Wirinthira Inthasuwan has suffered with Biliary Atresia since she was born in Songkhla, southern Thailand in 2019.<br /><br />The disease has slowed her growth and caused her to suffer from a big belly and soft bones.<br /><br />The mother Rosita Inthasuwan, 38, said she was recommended to take her daughter to the more equipped hospital for treatment but she had no money.<br /><br />She said: "I have to take her to the hospital every month but some months if I could not earn enough for the medication, so I could not take her there.<br /><br />"She has gone absent the treatment from time to time which hurts me as well but I have no other choice."<br /><br />The family were visited by the local government officials after they heard about the girl's plight through social media. <br /><br />District sheriff Somsak Chanchu donated supplies and said the authority will try to find a way to help the girl. <br /><br />He said: "We will coordinate with the hospital to assist with the treatment for the poor girl as soon as possible."
