In the Buenos Aires town of Gerli, a 37-year-old man died when the car he was traveling hit another vehicle. The driver was high speed chasing a thief that was riding a motorcycle. <br /><br />The thief stole a cell phone. <br /><br />The incident occurred this Tuesday (July 28) afternoon, at the intersection of Camino General Belgrano and Basavilbaso avenue. Justice ordered the arrest of the driver that caused the accident.<br /><br />Judicial sources reported that it all started in Lanús, where a criminal who was on board a motorcycle, stole a cell phone from a man who was moving in a red Chevrolet Cruze car.<br /><br />The victim, who was next to another occupant in the passenger seat, decided to chase the “thief on a motorcycle” at high speed for several blocks. <br /><br />According to sources, upon reaching the junction with the Camino General Belgrano, which is a two-way avenue, the car hit a gray Volkswagen Fox.<br /><br />As a result of the crash, the driver of that car, identified as Mauro Alberto Varela, died almost instantly while the other two occupants of the Red Cruze suffered minor injuries.
