Major roads and bridges in Seoul closed due to heavy rain

잠수교 통행제한…동부간선도로 통행 재개<br /><br />The Han River, which cuts through the middle of the capital, has risen dramatically because of the rain, forcing the closure of many roads and low-lying bridges during the day.<br />Arirang News' Kim Sung-min is live at the Jamsu Bridge, which is one of those low-lying areas.<br />Sung-min, how are things looking like at the moment?<br />Connyoung, you *can* see a bridge behind me, but the Jamsu Bridge is actually the one below it, which is completely submerged.<br />The Han River is now eight meters higher than usual.<br />The Jamsu bridge has now been closed off for more than 24 hours.<br />But since the water is not rising as fast now, some other roads that had been closed have reopened.<br />Those include the Olympic Bridge and the Dongbu Expressway.<br />This could be reversed, though, as soon as the water rises again.<br />The interchange roads near me in Banpo and Jamwon, Shinjamwon and Oksu are still closed as well.<br />And just south of the capital region, Chungcheongbuk-do Province is still seeing heavy rain in some regions almost 20 to 50 millimeters per hour.<br />Gangwon-do Province has seen over 300 millimeters of rain for each of the past three days and that's expected to continue until tomorrow.<br />These areas and Seoul are expected to see heavy rain for the rest of the day... up to around one hundred millimeters per hour.<br />There's more rain to come, so be sure to watch for the latest updates.<br />Back to you, Connyoung.<br />
