A dinosaur statue that was hit by a car has been given a leg splint - to warn other drivers to be more careful.<br /><br />The enormous brown sculpture of a diplodocus stood on a grass verge on a road in Khon Kaen, northeastern Thailand but a car crashed into it on July 31.<br /><br />The car driver had paid for the damage to the fibreglass and covered the repair costs but the authorities decided to put a splint on the dinosaur's leg.<br /><br />Local street vendor Kanchit Samran, 47, who witnessed the accident, said that the authorities wanted the splint to be a sign to warn the road users to be careful.<br /><br />He said: "The leg was actually repaired but the authorities had an idea to use the accident in a beneficial way.<br /><br />"They decided to put a splint on it to remind the people about the accident and warn them to be more careful while driving."
