Research has shown more children are experiencing mental health difficulties during the pandemic societal lockdown.<br />According to HuffPost, such difficulties include feeling unhappy, being clingy, and experiencing physical symptoms associated with worry.<br />Poppy O'Neill has written widely on mental wellbeing. Her new book, '101 Tips to Help Your Anxious Child,' is about to come out.<br />She suggests parents discuss anxiety openly, and try to get their child to articulate what they're feeling--and where it shows up in their body.<br />Also, be open to communicating differently. Have the child draw a picture, write a letter, or demonstrate their feelings with toys or emojis.<br />Most importantly, parents should make their home a place of positivity and remind their children that they can trust themselves and cope.
